Why Am I Complaining If I Cant Do Something About Cornwall Regional Hospital

So after all this time, people still arguing about this post. It shows that this is like an old sore that won’t heal, but for over 30 years this sore can’t heal? Come on now. Of course I am not going to let this matter slide. I am going to address as many of the points brought up as possible. One of the main points brought up is “ Why am I complaining, why don’t I take that family member to the States, and contribute to fix the problem, and if I can’t do that I need to stop talking “. What about the money that my family member’s paid for over 40 years in taxes? That must be in the millions now. I am not going to stop complaining! I am the voice of those people who are not able to speak up for themselves! If we don’t highlight the issues, how will they be resolved! It would appear that if I can send a million dollars to address the problem I must not talk about it while my family members that work for over 40 years snd diligently pay their taxes without complaining cant even expect to receive medical care when they are sick. What provisions are being made to treat the sick while the renovations are taking place? Who is healthcare management team responsible for educating the public of these alternate medical facilities available for their care till the renovations are complete? Sorry I will not be keeping quiet anytime soon. Further more my family is so large it is not possible for me to take all of them to the United States. Also many elderly people who live all their life in Jamaica do not want to travel anywhere. Over the past few months I have received news from family, close friends and former classmates of loved ones who went to this place for treatment for and died because they did not receive the urgent medical care needed. No! I will not keep quiet. Those people telling me to be quiet fly their family to Miami or take their family to GWest or Hospiten which my family cannot afford. They don’t even use Jamaican public healthcare facilities. Angry blog coming next week! I am going to discuss many of the points brought up in the comments! If we don’t talk about it, how can we address it?

Horror Stories From Cornwall Regional Hospital

What do you do when you are a sick person in Montego Bay, you go to the hospital for treatment and you have to sit on a hard chair joined to other chairs with other patients for 4 days, with 4 or more people sharing the stand to which your IV line is connected...

More Examples of how the British Curriculum Messed Up Caribbean Students

More Examples of how the British Curriculum Messed Up Caribbean Students I remember sitting in a Physics class trying to solve a Physics question. I got it wrong. When the teacher explained the answer, the teacher showed that to answer correctly, one had to take in consideration thermal insulation on windows. How was I supposed to know about Thermal insulation on a window when I was born in a hot tropical country, had never traveled outside of Jamaica in all my life, never seen snow, never experienced any temperature below Jamaican weather. Another example of British Curriculum forced on Tropical students which is not going to help them in anyway.

SOS Call To Young People Born In Jamaica Wherever you Are In The World!

The problem with Jamaican government is they are still following this old British Parliament system designed for 1800 Britain located in Europe, and they are trying to adapt these archaic policies and systems of government to Jamaica, an island, located in the Caribbean ( entirely different geographical region) in the year 2019. Where are all the fine young men and women with the college education that your parents sacrificed house and land to ensure that you would one day be able to help them. They need you now. They need you to bring modern solutions to these modern problems. We can’t wait on government. We have to come together as a community and use strategies that will work. For example, someone posted on Facebook that an ambulance was donated to a health care facility in Lucea, and the ambulance stayed on the wharf because whatever policies and procedures required to clear it from the wharf was so complicated and frustrating that it stayed on the wharf for many months accumulating fees. This is just one example of a bureaucracy set up to keep people in a system where they cannot get access to healthcare when it is needed. Are you telling me some type of protocol can’t be put in place to give priority clearance to medical vehicles and equipment donated to help people? Whatever law put into place to hinder much needed medical equipment (DONATED) from reaching the people that need it, needs to be changed. Whoever is standing in the way of these equipment reaching the facilities that need them, need to GO. Whoever created the law that is making it complicated for healthcare facilities to receive aid also need to GO. We need young educated people to step up and make changes. The time is NOW!

What can we do to help the healthcare system in Jamaica

I am reading these comments and there is a general consensus that something needs to be done. Young educated people are realizing that these conditions are not acceptable and they want to help fix these problems. Do you know what needs to be done? Time to pass the torch! There needs to be a total revamp of the JLP and PNP leadership. Time for fresh new ideas. The ideas that worked over 30 years ago when Cornwall Regional Hospital was first built cannot fix the problems in 2019. We need young educated people who are educated on how to use modern technologies to fix modern problems. We thank our past leaders for setting the foundation, but now all of you need to step down and make way for people who know how to fix these issues. I have more to say on these issues. Will be posting more soon.

The Dysfunctional State of Healthcare at Cornwall Regional Hospital in Montego Bay, Jamaica

I was going to share more beautiful and alturistic posts on my social media this morning, you know the usual pictures of delicious food, beautiful landscapes and whatnot,  but there is an urgent matter that needs to be discussed. It is like an old sore. It is the year 2019. Not 1919 or 1819 or 1719, but 2019. My family member contacts me to tell me her dad is in the Cornwall Regional Hospital waiting room from 8am in the morning till 11:00pm at night waiting to receive medical attention. I am so sick and tired of hearing about this dysfunctional place. Sick people have to sit in a waiting room on wooden chairs for 15 hours or more before getting medical attention. What a national disgrace. Montego Bay that has 5 star luxury hotels that attract famous celebrities and there is no descent hospital for the citizens. the citizens that work hard their whole life and diligently pay their taxes in the hope that the government will give them the benefits they are entitled to when they need it. Where is the justice?  I just want to call on all the able bodied, educated  young people that are citizens of Montego Bay to stand up for your rights. Do not settle for substandard healthcare!
Maybe I have been living in the United States too long. After being exposed to descent healthcare, it is just hard for me to imagine my family members receiving anything less. And what does descent healthcare look like? It means
1. Going to any doctor or healthcare facility within your community.
2. Being given medical attention within 10 to 15 mins.
3. Having access to all the latest medical care that is available anywhere in the world.
4. A clean comfortable stretcher.
5. Immediate medical attention by nurses or doctors.
6. Access to a clean hospital bed and the latest medical equipment
These are just some of the least things that any citizen in Montego Bay deserves.
Anything less is just disheartening, disgraceful and disrespectful to the citizens.
This is an SOS call to all the young people who grew up in  Montego bay,who live there now or your parents grew up or presently live there. The time to take action is NOW!
What can you do? There is so much that needs to be done but here is where we can start.
1.Contact your local member of parliament and demand better healthcare.
2. Any healthcare facility you go to, demand that you and your family members get better healthcare.
3. Use the technology available! Take pictures and videos of the state of the facilities so that people can be aware of the situation at the facility. Then send it to the local newspapers or post it online. Jamaican politicians seem to only respond when pictures or videos are posted online.
This is just a start. If you think of any other ways to highlight the issues, please feel free to take initiative and act accordingly as long as what you are doing is legal.
The time is NOW!
We must act NOW!

Why We Need To Have More Babies

I would question the accuracy of this article if it did not come from a reputable source like Forbes. It’s still shocking though. That is  why we have to have more babies. If we outnumber the Chinese, we will always be able to make the rules. We won’t allow harvesting of organs. We can’t effect change if we are outnumbered. I know Jamaican men will definitely make sure to keep our population increasing.

Help Young Jamaicans Reach Their Potential

I haven’t forgotten about the young men dismissed by Calabar high school’s principal.  This is not just about Calabar, it’s about all the people in Jamaica who block the progress of young people because they have been brainwashed by a system that says if these young bright leaders don’t adapt to the teachings of a world that has already past, they should be thrown out of school. How about using modern technology, new strategies and techniques of doing things. Why dismiss them, hurt their chances for progress, and almost destroy their future ( if you dont have CXC subjects, no job, likelihood of ending up in prison increased), just because your system did not work?

Death Of Hon Edward Seaga

Former Prime Minister Of Jamaica and leader of the Jamaica Labour Party,  the Honorable Edward Seaga, my dad’s hero, has died. May his soul RIP.

http://jamaica-gleaner.com/article/news/20190528/edward-seaga-has-died-89

don’t support neither PNP nor JLP, but during my childhood during the last term of Hon Edward Seaga, tourists walked around Montego Baby and supported the local businesses. Montego Bay was also known as the friendly city. Don’t attack me now. I am just telling you what I observed as a child.

Please note the location of the hospital where he spent his last moments. Miami Hospital. The leaders of Jamaica and the citizens who can afford it seek healthcare outside of Jamaica. Please note that I do not support neither JLP nor PNP.

Message Of Hope For the Future Of Jamaica

I was talking with my niece and she assured me that there is hope for Jamaica 🇯🇲. I just want to assure all the people from my generation and older that my niece told me that Jamaicans are not going to sit down and let China or any other country take over Jamaica. She told me that even if some Jamaicans try to sell out the country, there are certain Jamaicans at every level of society that will not allow it. I feel better already. I am just posting this message for those of us who were worried about the future. The future has told me not to worry.
