The Bank Of Jamaica Act

The Bank Of Jamaica Act… I started browsing it and when I saw them mention the “Governor General”, I had a headache… I don’t have anything personal against the Governor General but why is the Queen’s representative having a say on how the money is being used? Can we please fast forward to the year 2021? Why does 18th Century policies govern how the money should be used in the year 2021? Anyway I am writing this long post to say that my cousins up in the country need bank accounts so they can achieve their financial goals and have access to everything that is rightfully theirs as Jamaican citizens. Ok me gone Ah mi bed now. I promise this is my last post for tonight.

Jamaican Alliance Investment Breaches Bank Of Jamaica Act

A stop order has been imposed by the court on Peter Chin and Robert Chin, the principals of Alliance Investment Management Limited and Alliance Financial Limited. The men and the companies are facing a raft of charges for alleged breaches of the Bank of Jamaica Act, the Banking Services Act and the Proceeds of Crime Act.

I would love to learn more about this story. They should have followed the right protocol and opened their own bank. But the fact that they are guilty suggests that they offered a service that the bank was not making widely available to many people. Many of my own family members in the country in Jamaica can’t even open up a bank account because Jamaican banks make it so hard to even open up a bank account, much more make loans available to people who need it. I took it for granted that I could just go down the street and open up an account at any bank here in the United States and I didn’t realize this was a privilege till I spoke to some of my cousins in Jamaica who informed me they were not able to open a bank account. In my US History class that I had to take in order to graduate,  learned that many minorities in the US opened up their own businesses and banks in their communities because they were turned away by white owned banks. So I don’t know the story of these guys, never heard about them till today, but I wouldn’t be too quick to judge them, the Bank Of Jamaica probably just wanted their share of the money. But seriously, some of the colonial 18th century policies that govern the Bank Of Jamaica need to be flushed down the toilet 🚽🧻 because they are not helping people to progress and achieve their financial goals. So how about the Bank Of Jamaica get more modern policies to enable people to access 21st century financial services, and give these guys instructions about n how that can open their own bank. And make some new policies to allow my family members to be eligible to have a bank account. Amen. Thank you. That is all I have for today.

Why Jamaica Should Remove The Queen As Head Of State

Overwhelmed hospitals, no money to build new hospitals, no money to expand schools, no money to pay healthcare workers, no money to pay teachers, murder rate increasing, locals living in poverty, basic needs of many families not being met, people having mental health breakdowns and turning to cults for escape from reality, Westminster Parliamentary system established in the 18th century by men who have died hundreds of years ago being used to try to solve problems in a tropical island in the year 2021…please let go of the Queen because the monarchy is not helping Jamaica and is preventing Jamaica from moving forward.

What can we do to help our family members who have mental issues

Hello, I  am talking to you reading this post, what are you doing right now to make sure your family member doesn’t join another cult similar to the Pathways Cult. If your family member ( son, daughter, niece, nephew, mother, father, uncle, aunt, sister, cousin, in-law came to you a few months ago and told you they are joining the Pathways “church”, would you have recognized any red flags in their behavior that would suggest they are having mental issues? Would you be able to help them seek help for their mental issues? Are you someone that family member can turn to when they need someone to talk to? Would you be bold enough to seek professional help for that family member? What can we do now to prevent another cult from taking our family members? What are we doing wrong Montego Bay?

Mental Illness Epidemic in Jamaica

There is a mental illness epidemic in Jamaica. I have been talking about this for some years now. Pathways cult ( it is not a church) is just the beginning. Open up your eyes fellow Jamaicans. This is not a joke. Many people won’t realize how serious this is until it affects your own family. Pathways Cult represented an escape from reality for the people who were involved. Don’t laugh at them. Go check on your family members.

Jamaicans Need More Access To Mental Healthcare

You know how you have a shop or rum bar at every corner in Jamaica, imagine if you had a clinic on every corner, where someone could talk to a nurse/ therapist/ mediation counselor/ psychiatrist. Jamaicans need more access to healthcare as well as mental healthcare.
